Help & FAQ

What each WA-Kit tool does, in plain words and pictures. Everything here is free to use, on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.

Text formatter

It makes your WhatsApp messages look neat: bold, italics, lists and quotes, even when you copy the text from Word, an email, a website or an AI chat. You can also type in your own language.

1 · The problem it solves

You copy this from Word
Parents’ meeting on Friday
  • Time: 7 pm
  • Please bring the report book
paste straight
into WhatsApp
WhatsApp shows this
Parents’ meeting on Friday Time: 7 pm Please bring the report book9:41
✕ Bold, italics and the list are lost

WhatsApp doesn’t understand formatting from other programs, so it throws it away.

2 · What WA-Kit does

✓ Looks exactly as you wrote it

WhatsApp has its own “secret code” for formatting: stars for *bold*, underscores for _italic_, and tildes for ~strikethrough~. WA-Kit writes that code for you, so you never have to remember it. In the WA-Kit editor you simply see the bold and italics, just as they will look.

3 · Type in your own language

Choose “Tamil” under Type in, then type
vaNakkam
as you type
வணக்கம்Hindi: namaste → नमस्ते · Arabic, Urdu, Malayalam and 100+ more

Type the way the word sounds, using English letters, and it changes into your language’s script. No special keyboard needed. On a phone, each word changes when you press space.

4 · Send it without saving the number

Send to +65 9123 4567 ➤ Send on WhatsApp
opens

Type any number with its country code (65 for Singapore, 974 for Qatar, 91 for India…) and WhatsApp opens that chat with your message already typed in. You only tap send. Leave the number empty to pick a chat or group in WhatsApp instead.

  1. 1Paste or type your message in the green box.
  2. 2Fix anything you like: bold, lists, your language.
  3. 3Tap Copy for WhatsApp and paste it in WhatsApp, or tap Send on WhatsApp.

Contacts & templates

Save the people you message often, with details like amount or due date. Write a message once with blanks, and WA-Kit fills in each person’s details for you. Needs a free sign-in with Google.

Template (written once)
Hi {First name}, your fee of {Amount} is due on {Due date}. Thank you!
Contact: Mrs Tan · Amount S$120 · Due date 15 Oct
pick Mrs Tan
Hi Mrs Tan, your fee of S$120 is due on 15 Oct. Thank you!9:41

Pick another contact and the same template fills in with their own name and amount. Free accounts keep 10 contacts and 2 templates of their own, plus ready-made templates for payment reminders, bills, appointments and greetings.

Birthday reminders

Add a birthday to any saved contact (the year is optional). From a few days before, the WA-Kit home page lists upcoming birthdays with a one-tap greeting.

Common questions

About WA-Kit

Is WA-Kit free?

Yes. The text formatter and the link & QR maker are free, with no account needed. A free account (sign in with Google) adds 10 saved contacts and 2 templates of your own. A paid plan with more is planned for businesses that need it.

Do I need to install anything?

No. WA-Kit works in your web browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Just open wa-kit.com.

Is WA-Kit part of WhatsApp?

No. WA-Kit is an independent website that helps you prepare messages. It is not made by or connected with WhatsApp or Meta.

Does WA-Kit send messages for me?

No. WA-Kit only opens WhatsApp with your message ready. You always tap send, from your own WhatsApp. Nothing is ever sent without you.

Can WA-Kit read my WhatsApp chats?

No. WA-Kit has no access to your WhatsApp account, chats or contacts.

Text formatter

Why do I see *stars* and _underscores_ in my message?

That is WhatsApp’s formatting code. When you paste into WhatsApp, it turns *text* into bold and _text_ into italics once the message is sent (and often while you type). If you paste somewhere else, such as an email, you will see the marks; use Copy for Word for those places instead.

What is the difference between “Copy for WhatsApp” and “Copy for Word”?

Copy for WhatsApp gives WhatsApp’s stars-and-underscores code. Copy for Word keeps real formatting for Word, Google Docs, Outlook or Gmail.

Why is my underline missing in WhatsApp?

WhatsApp has no underline. Underlined text stays underlined only when you use Copy for Word.

Can I copy just part of the message?

Yes. Highlight the part you want, then tap Copy for WhatsApp or Send on WhatsApp.

Can I send to a WhatsApp group?

WhatsApp doesn’t let any website put a message straight into a group. Leave “Send to” empty (or pick a saved group) and tap Send: WhatsApp opens with your message ready, and you choose the group from your chat list.

Why does it say to add the country code?

WhatsApp needs the full international number. Use the country code instead of the leading 0, for example +65 9123 4567 (Singapore), +974 5555 1234 (Qatar) or +91 98765 43210 (India).

Is my text saved or sent anywhere?

No. What you type or paste in the text formatter stays in your browser. It is only stored if you choose to save it as a template in your account.

Link & QR maker

Does the QR code expire?

No. The QR code simply holds your link. It keeps working for as long as your number uses WhatsApp.

Can I change the message after printing the QR code?

No. The message is part of the code itself. To change it, make a new QR code and print that one.

What do people need to scan the code?

Just their phone camera (or a QR scanner app) and WhatsApp. Nothing else to install.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. Enter the number of your WhatsApp Business account and the link opens a chat with it.

Is it safe to share my number this way?

The link shows your number to anyone who has it, just like printing your number on a card. Share it where you’re happy for people to contact you.

Account, contacts & templates

Why sign in with Google?

So your saved contacts and templates are kept safely and appear on any device you use. We only receive your name, email and profile picture, never your password or Gmail.

How do I fill a template for someone?

In the text formatter, choose a Template, then pick the person under Send to. Their details fill in. Anything still empty is highlighted in yellow; tap it to type over it.

What are “fields”?

Fields are details you keep for each contact, such as Amount, Due date or Payment link. You name up to 5 on the My contacts page. In a template, write the field name in curly brackets, like {Amount}, and it is replaced with each person’s value.

How do I download or delete my data?

On My contacts, use Export to Excel to download your contacts, or Delete my account at the bottom to remove everything.
